Parks and Trails

Copper River Ranch is complemented by over hundreds of acres of natural open space offering the perfect amount of room to take in the surrounding beauty every day. You’ll find an 8-mile trail system that connects to other neighborhoods in the community and pocket parks throughout. Whether you’re in the mood to walk your puppy or enjoy a brisk jog with a neighbor - you’ll find your zen point within this meandering pastoral trail system.

The Vista Point

During your walk or bicycle ride, be sure to stop at the Vista Point, a 3/4-mile extension to Eaton Trail. This serene observation point provides residents with a close link to the San Joaquin River Parkway. In addition, it provides walkers, hikers and cyclists a destination to relax, get a drink of water or just enjoy the views on a nature walk.

The Eaton Vista Point was “unveiled” in June of 2007, and includes a stunning 7-foot-tall metal sculpture of three egrets by artist Chris Sorensen. This brilliant sculpture, in addition to the breathtaking views, make the Vista Point an enchanting draw for residents of all ages.

Movie in the Park

Some of the best ways to spend the cool summer nights in Fresno is enjoying a movie in the park. Movie in the Park allows homeowners and friends to interact with each other while enjoying a great movie. Kids can play games, winning prizes and snack on popcorn. You’ll find delicious concessions available for purchase right on site, with all proceeds being donated to charity. Even bounce houses are available from time to time.

Woodward Park

Just five minutes from Copper River Ranch you’ll find Woodward Park. This expansive park is a regional park and bird sanctuary in Northeast Fresno on the South bank of the San Joaquin River between Highway 41 and Friant Road. This amazing 300-acre park has several multi-use amenities and is the only regional park of its size in the Central Valley.

The Southeast corner of Woodward Park harbors numerous bird species offering bird enthusiasts an excellent opportunity for viewing. The park has a multi-use amphitheater that seats up to 2,500 people, an authentic Japanese Garden, fenced dog park, two-mile equestrian trail, exercise par course, three children’s playgrounds, one large lake, three small tranquil ponds, seven picnic areas (with barbeques, electricity and water fountains) and five miles of multi-purpose trails that are part of the San Joaquin River Parkway’s Lewis S. Eaton Trail.

Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden is one of the major highlights of Woodward Park. Aesthetically beautiful upon first glance, it also has a serene 5-acre Shinzen Friendship Garden to enjoy. This peaceful garden contains authentic stone lanterns, a teahouse, stream beds with waterfalls, seven bridges and the koi pond. The garden was planned around the four seasons, with distinctive plantings in each area.
